2010 Review

IDM Superbike Champion 2010

We started well into the season and worked really hard. We developed new tyres & we really made some great progress. Round 5 at Sachsenring was a big turning point of my season. 1st Race went really well, probably the real highlight of my season by taking a solid win. 2nd Race was shaping up to be a repeat until about lap four, when the rider in 2nd place behind me crashed and his bike scopped me up and I got launched into next week. Flying trhough the air more then 50 meters than getting crunched into the wall as well! Had massive bruising all over and a significant amount of ligament and cartlig damage.

The next round of the championship was only 10 days later and riding injuired is never a good thing, but a strange thing happened in Qualifying 1. I clipped the inside curb on the four to last corner and the bike stepped sideways and flipped me up and over the front of the bike right in it's path. It ran directly over my chest from head to toe realining my ribs enabling me to breath without pain.

We spent the rest of the season working really hard to improve our performance, but no matter how much we did it was alwaysimpossible to get it to the ground.

In the end we did manage to get the title and it wasn't through lack of sheer hard work and determination from every one infolved.
